Natalie Mik serves as Sutter Homes' Lead Architect. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UC Davis and a Master of Architecture from UC Denver. A licensed architect since 2015, Natalie previously worked for over a decade with Steve Gates Architecture, where she led highend residential design projects. Since joining Sutter Homes in 2024, Natalie has combined thoughtful design execution with technical fluency to drive architectural quality. Her portfolio includes the $5M Domagala Residence in Glacier.
Joseph Roberts brings more than 30 years of experience in residential, commercial, and heavy civil construction. His areas of expertise include excavation, structural concrete, underground utilities, and full-site development. Joseph previously spent 14 years as a Government Inspector and Project Manager for La Plata County, where he managed capital improvement projects and regulatory enforcement. With over 35 years as a heavy equipment operator, Joseph is a specialist in grading, trenching, and job site logistics. He is proficient in reading construction documents and leveraging digital construction tools for real-time project tracking.
In addition to his technical and operational strengths, Joseph excels in client relations and project communication. He is known for his professionalism, reliability, and ability to translate complex site conditions into clear, actionable updates for clients. His proactive approach to managing expectations, resolving issues, and fostering client trust makes him a key representative of Sutter Homes in the field. Cody Strietzel holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Management from Fort Lewis College. With over 20 years of experience in financial operations and administrative oversight—and more than 10 years in construction project management—Cody plays a pivotal role at Sutter Homes. His experience includes private, public, and governmental accounting, payroll systems, retirement portfolio management, and general office leadership. He has also supervised crews, managed budgets, and facilitated client communication across various construction projects. Outside the office, Cody has contributed to international mission work in Guatemala, Mexico, India, and Nepal and served six years in volunteer fire and emergency medical services. His comprehensive approach ensures fiscal discipline, procedural compliance, and transparent reporting across the company.
Cliff Shearer brings unmatched practical knowledge and field experience to the Sutter Homes team. A true builder at heart, Cliff has constructed 51 new homes, four restaurants, one distillery, and completed over 150 remodels in Durango alone. With a reputation for getting the job done right, he manages subcontractors and job sites with precision, efficiency, and professionalism. Cliff is known for his clear communication style, strong client relationships, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
